Hello everyone,
I hope this message finds you well. I wanted to share a quick round up of the work that your local Roads Policing Unit have been doing in your area, what's coming up and how we are working with partners to keep our roads safe for those living, working and visiting Carmarthenshire.
From what our communities have told us we have been focusing on:
To effectively tackle these issues we have been working with local Neighbourhood Policing teams, as well as the local authorities in order to try and tackle the issues on a long-term scale. These collaborations are helping us respond more effectively and holistically to community needs.
As a result we have:
This coming month we will continue to target the issues affecting our communities by supporting the following:
Op Spotlight - targeting criminals using our road networks, a well as Op Tutelage targeting the illegal use of “Ghost Plates” to commit crime. We will also continue to robustly enforce offences relating to e-bikes and scooters, as we appreciate this is an on-going problem. Furthermore, as we head into the summer months, we will also be increasing our drink/drug drive focus, as we generally tend to see an increase in these offences at this time of year.
Thank you for your continued support and engagement.
Regards Sgt Yate Carms Roads Policing Unit
