On the 27th June, Police received a report of an ongoing assault on Presteigne High Street between two males which continued across a number of locations within the town. Police attended with one male being arrested- the investigation remains ongoing. Local officers are working closely with Powys County Council Housing Department in relation to this matter due to the apparent concerns relating to the extent of the behaviour exhibited by those concerned.

Local officers are continuing to work on a daily basis with the Roads Policing and Intelligence departments to develop information from the community on local concerns relating to driving offences, drug activity and shoplifting offences in order to plan and deliver effective and positive responses and disruption within the town.

During this period local officers have also distributed posters and provided associated information in relation to shoplifting as part of national efforts to disrupt and tackle such offending within communities.

This priority will run from January-March 2026.

Issued 01 January 2026

PRIORITY COMPLETED-

A victim of cuckooing has been safeguarded following extensive collaborative partner agency problem solving work, including NPPT, spanning the last few years. The concerned property has now been secured by Powys Housing Department in order to completely cease problems at this location. The community are thanked for their ongoing support in relation to this priority and ultimately the safeguarding of a highly vulnerable individual.
Regular high visibility patrols of the estate by NPPT and partnership work with PCC and Barcud Housing Departments will continue in order to prevent displacement of the previous ASB related concerns and to offer support and reassurance to all residents in this area.
Police Surgery held at Presteigne Police Station on February 17th , no concerns relating to this priority reported.
Misuse of Drugs Act Warrant conducted in the East Radnorshire area on March 31st by Radnorshire NPPT with support from the Powys Pro-active Team. The warrant was positive for class A substances which will no doubt have a beneficial impact on wider drug related concerns in the area, including Lugg View.
